Filipinos Salute Barack Obama and Wish Him All the Best

n a few hours Barack Obama will take his oath of office President Barack Obama standing by the Nation's Capitolas the 44th President of the United States. The first non-white to ever hold that office. The fulfillment of what Martin Luther King spoke about when on the 28 August 1963 he stood in front of the Lincoln Memorial and told the world "I have a dream."

For most Americans, this is the dawn of a new day. A time when America can once again regain its footing and lead the world in peace and prosperity. To paraphrase President Kennedy: the torch has once again been passed to a newer generation of Americans. The Obamas: Michelle, Malia Ann, Barack, and SashaAmericans who are ready and willing to face the future and see great opportunities in preserving the planet for future generations to enjoy.

Filipino-Americans, as well as Filipinos everywhere rejoice as Barack Obama, takes his oath of office. From Charise Pempengco who received a standing ovation for her rendition of 'God Bless America' in one of the pre-inaugural balls, to White house Chef Cristeta Comerford who will be preparing the first family's meals, we wish the new president 'all the best.'

I agree Mr. Jones of Alabama. Fred Roach (3 Trainer of the Year awards), suffers from Parkinson's disease, knows best. Our champion should consider quitting after the possible Mayweather fight next year. Manny has faced & encountered other champions who are not exactly softies. They could equally do damage to their opponents. So, the possibility that Manny might have a neurodegenerative disorder is very high. He received quiet a few hard blows during his previous fights. Okay, he won. He's our champion but just look at Muhammad Ali now; slow movement, verbal hesitancy, & constant shaking. I don't want to see that later on. His real battle will be in congress against unbelievable & windy boxers.

I have lived in UK more than where I was born (in the Philippines), but remain loyal to my own kababayan. I am very proud for the success/victory of Manny Pacquiao. He has put the Philippines back to history for all to see/read.

Mayweather said that he is better than The Pacman and he should get a bigger slice of the pie which is 65%. How about this suggestion, whoever wins will get 65% and the loser gets the rest..How about that?

Background Checks on U.S. Citizens

It is well known that the government performs detailed background clearances on immigrants as part of the green card application process. However, what seems to be not as well known is that background checks are also performed on the petitioner in a family based petition. This means that in a marriage-based green card case...  MORE
