Typhoon 'Lando' leaves
4 dead, 1 missing and one injured in Cagayan Valley Region
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Oct. 22 (PNA) -- Typhoon “Lando” has left Cagayan
Valley Region with four casualties, one missing, one injured
and a total of
42,608 families or 206,187 persons in 462 barangays affected in the
Provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
OCD-02 regional director and chair of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management Council (RDRRMC) Norma Talosig, on Thursday identified the
four dead as Jonathan Cadangyao y Agsay, 29, of Barangay Dy Abra, Tumauini,
Isabela; Danilo Corpuz Aurora, who was left inside the trailer truck that
fell off a ravine at Barangay Tactac, Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya; Elvis Binasao
y Marallag, 22, of Barangay Dipusu, San Mariano, Isabela; and Rolly Ranjo y
Decena, 33, of Barangay Centro, Cabagan, Isabela.
The missing, on the other hand, is Renai Vitex Tuliao y Yacas, 6 years old,
of Abian, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya; while the injured is Mauveric Tuliao y
Yacas, 9, of Abian, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.
Talosig also said that there were a total of 42,608 families or 206,187
persons in 462 barangays affected in the Provinces of Cagayan, Isabela,
Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino.
From the 77 total evacuation centers with 1,754 families or 7,730 persons,
12 are still occupied by 513 families or 2,597 persons while 18,144 families
or 90,633 persons areoutside evacuation centers.
There were 2,137 partially and 225 totally damaged houses in the Provinces
of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya.
Also, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 2 reported a total amount of
Php7,369,112.50 cost of damage on fishponds, fish cages, motorized and
non-motorized boats in the Provinces of Cagayan and Isabela and a total of
Php 425,365,600.00 damage on palay, corn and high-value crops and fruit
A total of Php151,079, 500.00 cost of damages to infrastructure was reported
in the region broken down as follows: Php 76,430,000.00 cost of damages to
provincial/municipal infrastructure; Php 38,265,000.00 on irrigation
facilities; and Php 36,384,500.00 cost of damages to school facilities.
