LTFRB sets hearing of
'Laglag Bala' modus of taxi driver
MANILA, Nov. 2 (PNA) -- The Land Transportation Franchising and
Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is set to conduct a hearing on a taxi driver
allegedly involved in the “Laglag Bala” modus.
The Laglag Bala modus is known for planting a bullet in the luggages of
passengers, making them liable for illegal possession of ammunition.
LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez said that the hearing will take place on Nov. 4
(Wednesday), 9 a.m. at the LTFRB main office in Quezon City.
On its official Twitter account, the Board shared a screenshot of a certain
Julius Habana reporting a taxi with licensed plate no. UVK 190.
Habana said that his friend (name not mentioned) was on his way to the Ninoy
Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to catch an international flight when he
noticed the taxi driver slip something inside his bag.
Instead of heading straight to the airport, his friend dropped by his
boarding house where he checked his bag and found a .38 caliber bullet.
The Board however, has yet to confirm this in the hearing. (PNA)
