There is some so-called loony tunes being played in RP politics. Like old Deo would say, the President had issued some statements that are "clear as mud" so that it was always necessary for his henchmen to elaborate or asked for excuses. This is not good for a nation that needs transparent recognition by others; not good enough for one that depends on so much aid from others based on credibility and responsible pronouncements from its leaders. These leader must not behave like children who need spankings to show good behavior. The RP government at present needs to be reprimanded and embargoed, if necessary, for such ill wills being showed to our friends near and far.

Re: Pres. Duterte's Resentment Against USA. It started in an incident in 2002 when he was Mayor of Davao city. An American Treasurer hunter named Michael Meiring, who sometimes joked he was with the CIA, was charged with possession of explosives after a metal box in his hotel room exploded, tearing one of his legs off. Philippine officials said FBI men snatched Meiring who was confined in a Hospital in the night and flew him out of the country. The Mayor was furious, saying Meiring was a criminal suspect, possible a spy or a terrorist.. In the Philippines many believed that Meiring was conducting bombings that could be blamed on the Rebels so Ph officials would be pressured to seek U.S. help thus increase American involvement (taken from The Week a magazine published in USA)

Re: Pres. Duterte--The problem with Pres. Duterte is that he has a very short memory. When the head of State and Head of Government bad mouths the POTUS and also the EU Duterte forgets that these entities have been very generous to the Filipinos in their time of need e.g. Typhoon Ondoy, Typhoon Yolanda.. The United Sates Red Cross and other international agencies..There will be a time when he would wished he did not have to bad mouth leaders of the U.S. The U.S. could retaliate by just not approving the visas of Filipinos who want to travel to the USA but that would not happen because most of the time the USA needs Filipinos work here in America.

Just hope that one high priority the President has on his agenda is to tell the Beijing government to stop the flow of drugs in the Philippines. China is causing us more misery than the Europeans or the Americans. Just look at Chinese business people in the Philippines whose main employees are Chinese like themselves. Do we still know what makes sense anymore?

Carelessness of speech can result in more sinister results other than reprimand and criticism. Only a person with a callous conscience and blind conviction will not heed what is called a day of reckoning. These times are fast becoming some real setback for the people and the country. Why the government's performance is fixed on illegal drugs and ignoring all other serious problems is too much to understand.

If the sale of drugs and transaction of drug-related business is done mainly by use of cell phones, as the news reveal, why not forbid the possession and use of such equipment by prisoners? Sure, prisoners have rights but not when those rights contravene the spirit of law, order , and discipline inside the penitentiary, especially when it affects law-abiding people outside and society as a whole.

Where do we place our belief about what is being said by the administration: Duterte's words or Abella's? Let the President express himself without elaborate explanation or excuse from any spokesman or speechwriter.

You're continued hatred for the man popularly elected implies another regime change. What do you think would the actions of a legitimate president be? Alliance with China and Russia of course would surely be on the table. You have no one to blame but your unfounded anger towards a man who accomplished so much in a little time despite the circumstances.

I think the author of this editorial is ignorant of history: Hitler [Nazism] & Mussolini [Fascism] have many followers in Europe or in the West. Again, the lessons of history will unmask the stupidity & hypocrisy of President Duterte's critics: Singapore was once a crime-ridden & poverty-stricken place for human rights to thrive. Lee Kuan Yew iron-hand rule transformed Singapore into a prosperous country. But "21st century intellectuals in different corners of the world despised Lee Kuan Yew's political leadership as simplistic & outmoded." I think French intellectuals are familiar with this expression: "Some ideas are so foolish that only an intellectual could believe them, for no ordinary man could be such a fool." Moreover, the lessons of history will once again unmask the hypocrisy of the left European intellectuals: "The European Left has a grudge against the U.S.A. because the latter has succeeded by means which were not laid down in the revolutionary code." I think the comments of Presidente Duterte can't be compared to Hitler's comment. Hitler once remarked that he has to attain immortality, even if the whole German nation perishes in the process."

Travelers returning from the Philippines nowadays are saying that it never was this peaceful and people more disciplined due to the President's policy on the drug menace. Does that mean that in spite of their show of religiosity and devotion to prayer Filipinos are still in great fear of dying? If a radical change for the worse in governance such as this one makes Filipinos observant of peace and order, then the President is doing an excellent job.

I think Rodel Rodis doesn't realize that Goebbels Josef is an intellectual. And you don't need to be a journalist or an intellectual that governmental propaganda is linked to any political regimes. why? I think Mr. Rodis, a lawyer & a journalist or propagandist, is ignorant of the fact that democracy depends on public opinion. The interactions of public opinion [take note! even private opinions], political parties & propaganda or public relations are inevitable in any political regimes. Moreover, Mr. Rodis must revisit the Cold War's used of propaganda. Mr. Rodis, must ask himself a simple question: How could you prevent the perpetuation of propaganda in a democratic regime that respects people's freedom of expression? Logic dictates that to prevent President Duterte's freedom of expression is to violate propaganda & vise versa. You don't need to be a Filipino intellectual kuno to understand that politicians make propaganda to gain voters. Clearly, Philippine Democracy is a political expression of public propaganda or public opinion: "Power is based on opinion," or public propaganda, if you will.

It is common knowledge that drug laws were hardly mattered in 19th century. Addiction was not considered then as a crime. But contemporary law [21st century] has declared opium, cocaine, & so on as toxic. Common sense dictates that drug addiction [poisonous drugs] will lead to crime, insanity & death: "poisonous or toxic drugs are like infectious pestilences; they are liable to burst out of their dens, hovels & spread among respectable & civilized people unless they are firmly dealt with." Drug trafficking in the Philippine is a massive national threat: narcotic laws [or legislation] can't be treated like a "slap at a moral evil." I think President Duterte's administration has a moral duty to defend the civilized, respectable, law-abiding, & God-fearing Filipino people against the proliferation of poisonous drugs being perpetuated by micro-macro drug lords. The fact remains, the Filipino & foreign drug lords are responsible for most of the Philippines cruel crime [supported by corrupt politicians & other public servants]; they rob, rape & kill to finance their addiction. Moreover, police force is essential in self-defense when dealing with drug lords & criminals.

Re: Donald Trump--There you are in vulgar terms just 6 months after getting married to 3rd wife Melania, Donald was inside a bus on his way to a Cameo role in Days of Our Lives, then he spoke to Billy Bush of Access Hollywood program, that Donald wanted to have sex with a married actress. This video would be replayed until Nov 8, 2016. Some Congressional leader in Utah Mr. Chaffez was interviewed by Chris Matthews as he explained that he couldn't vote for Trump as he would not be able to face his 15 year old daughter with that kind of vulgarity. Please also see the reaction of Robert De Niro a very respected and Oscar winning actor.

WA-KA-NGA!!! WA-KA-NGA!!! Someone said, "....For instance, the Philippine government can't propagate propaganda without the Filipino masses who are interested in politics. What is the solution? Opinion must follow the State?" My reaction: You are guessing and you are doing it without using common sense... The Truth shall set you free... dumbass. It seems that you value propaganda than sticking with the truth... In a way I can't blame you because the truth hurts.. like Duterte is a closet tyrant, a closet dictator, definitely a sexist, absolutely a naricisist, more vindictive than the Aquino's.. a political bluffer and most of all, a person who has no regard for decency... believe me, it is not hard to defend these observations.. Not at all.

Someone said, "For example, when Fidel Castro of Cuba wanted to demonstrate his power based on democratic passion or sentiment, he organized "the Day of Justice." What is the implication of "the Day of Justice" on world politics?.... Even journalists are engage in propaganda: "it ruins democratic values, ideals, & behavior." My reaction: Is it a democratic value to liquidate 3000 drug victims or abusers..? It is quite ironic you used this example to defend your opinion because it doesn't defend what you are trying to say at all, It doesn't defend your support for Duterte at all... But that is you and I find it no longer suprsing anymore.. I knew all along you are a guesser with poor analytical skills in analyzing current and historical events.. It is a joy to expose you...Anyway, Duterte and Fidel Castro are both socialists and they ruled by attacking Freedom and Liberty including the suspension or even disrespect for Human Rights... Your Kanto-boy idol for a President has been exposed.. and so are you.

Human Rights & Legitimacy [see Manila Standard: Pensees by Fr. Ranhillo Aquino]. According to Fr. Aquino, "human rights are the presupposition of legitimacy in government. To sideline human rights, one must be willing to sideline equally think question of legitimacy." I think Fr. Aquino's view of legitimacy has an element of Kantian philosophy or theory, which is both liberal & republican: "The republican constitution guarantees both negative liberty---freedom from [unlawful] interference & treats its subjects as citizens [hypothetical] co-legislators, securing their positive liberty to abide only those laws to which they have consented." I think this Kantian theory is essential [which is the enemy of "secret societies] to secure political stability & political legitimacy. Does Kantian theory of legitimacy guarantee social equilibrium without a sense of justice [i.e., human rights law inability to achieve its fundamental goals]? Remember that "when human beings are not visualized in God's image, their basic rights may lose their metaphysical raison d'etre." Would the Republic of the Philippines [or President Duterte's administration] is willing to risk the lives of millions of decent, law-abiding & God-fearing Filipino citizens [war on illegal drugs] just to adhere to an abstract [ambiguous] concept of human rights? How can we ensure that the "Human in the Universal Declaration of Human rights [which is our common shared bulwark against evil] leaves none of the ambiguities of man in the rights of man?"

About Donald Trump, Someone said "What I can't understand is that rabid Filipino supporters are still going to vote for Trump notwithstanding his denigrating Filipinos as animals.... My reaction: That is misquote and if he indeed said that, he is not specifically talking about Filipinos per se.. He did not call Filipinos animals, that's how liberals create propaganda because they control the media. By common sense alone, If that's what's in his heart about us all along, how could he have businesses in the Philippines... He has pictures with a Filipina beauty queen and so forth..

About Donald Trump, Someone said " I know a Filipino immigrant who has always voted Republican but this election he said he couldn't vote for a candidate who calls him an animal." My reaction: I will vote Trump. I don't believe that he thinks all Filipinos are terrorists, I don't believe he regarded as animals.. (maybe he referred to the Abu Sayaf who really behaved like animals..). Trump has businesses in the Philippines so statements like that don't make sense unless the info is propaganda against him... Trump is not a seasoned politician which explains his lack of ability to explain his point as seen in his debates.. but he is a determined person in terms of success. He may lack some tack and a bit arrogant and quite frankly, ignorant at times BUT I prefer him over career liars like Hilary. Hilary is one person who can lie with a straight face. They are talking about how Donald talks about women when no one is looking around but how about Hilary defending a rapist against a 12 year old, Kathy Shelton.. She even allowed Russia to control 20 percent of our Uranium... and how about Benghazi massacre where he blamed the whole thing to a YouTube take, and those thousand of emails she deleted after a subpoena was released against her...Don't these facts at least constitute a degree of malice in her part? The FBI director charged her with extreme carelessness but she doesn't get penalized... But if these happened to the ordinary people like you and me, It's Jail plain and simple.... I would prefer a determined businessman like Trump over a very powerful two-faced liar like Hilary Clinton.

One of the questions or doubt raised by the President is "what if there is no God?" What if there is? Another question worth asking is "What if there is a Hell?". To the former, then he has to face the Ultimate Judge and no doubt be pronounced guilty. To the latter, he will be consigned to place of fire and brimstone. Dying is thing; suffering eternally in an unquenchable ring of fire looking at Lazarus leaning comfortably in Abraham's bosom is another.
