Someone said, "Rodel Rodis is stupid as F$57 a one sided prostitute agent of the yellowtard who is totally misinformed of the real situation. Filipino Americans are not really anti Duterte as what this scumbag writer trying to portray." My reaction: You may want to check your awful spelling skills and your general grammar. You are the one who is totally misinformed. By merely reading Rodis' writings, I can tell he is an educated and cultured person. By reading your statement, I can tell the horrible breeding you have and the limited education you attained.

Re: Cabinet level members of the Duterte Admin..As the Duterte Administration continues to disregard human rights as defined in the PH Constitution and the U.N. If the provisions of the Anti Torture Act is fully implemented, members of Duterte's cabinet are ineligible to get visas as tourists. Let us see if the USA would prevent these high officials of the P.I. from entering the USA. I believe Pres. elect Trump has already invited Pres. Duterte to visit Washington D.C. Duterte has admitted that he has executed Filipinos in DAvao who were never tried or convicted of any crime. Abangan.

One can not resort to violence to free one country of drugs. It will never work. Simply because it does not work that way. They are getting 90 percent users. 9 percent or more pushers from the street and 1 percent to 0 percent of the drug distributors. This will never ever solve the problem. The problem is poverty and corruption in government and other. the problem with drugs is world wide this is just another attempt at stopping it and it will fail. The only reason it did not completely fail in his city was that drug people had other places to go.....this is a battle the government will never win....it might be good politics but it is insane thinking.

Joe Magtoto you have it so right.....This is only about absolute power, and nothing else, there are so many intelligent people in the Philippines, why is there not an outcry of proportional extent. Proportional to the atrocity that is being committed. Proportional to the murders of others without fair and true trial....this is exactly what separates us from the primates and even they have more rules......well spoken Joe....

Re: Duterte's Admission that he killed Filipinos in Davao when he was Mayor is an admission against interest.. He was a law student at San Beda ..Criminal law is a subject that is taken by 1st year law students..What he admitted is indefensible because , he did not follow procedure.. As Mayor he is supposed to turn over people who committed crimes to the Police so they can be booked and a Criminal complaint is filed in the Regional trial court. He is to be investigated as the RP is a member of the U.N. I don't think his visit to the White House would be able to proceed considering that he committed murder when he killed Filipinos in his city of Davao. No Head Of state has ever been invited to the USA who has openly admitted to committing murder.

Someone said, " I think we can play with our ideas when we read books. We can smile at our weaknesses & ignorance. And we can discuss the affairs of the world @ Philnews.com with an open mind. My reaction: Now you love books.. I just have to wonder what in books made you love a monster like Duterte?

Re: Duterte to U.S:" I do not need your assistance". My only prayer is that the Philippines would not be visited by another "Ondoy" type of Typhoon. Because when that happens and no aid comes from abroad because the President said he doesn't need aid.. a lot of Filipinos would die. The P.I. is so rich that It can't employ millions of Filipinos that is the reason we have millions of Filipinos considered as Overseas foreign workers because there are not enough jobs that pays enough money for families to be able to educate their children..

Do not allow yourselves to be sidetracked. Duterte claims that his administration brought down crime.... Not too fast sucker! The extrajudicial killings he (Duterte) triggered without respecting habeas corpus and a suspects right to be heard in court are definitely criminal acts. Never before the propagator of crime is the President of the nation himself.. This is purging. To begin with Duterte is not leading by example instead, he is leading by promoting fear.... In three to four months in office, the Duterte administration has committed about 5-6 thousand killings... 90 percent of the people killed are from the depressed, marginalized, squatting impoverished people. We definitely have a crisis on hand. All because of our own stupidity for allowing ourselves to be politically romanticized by this whacko. If there is anything the Filipino needs at this point approaching the new year of 2017, Is that he raises his political intellect. I believe the political intellect of the Filipino people has gone down to the gutter.. You have the likes of Mockingmaya who claims to be a lover of books yet a big supporter of Duterte... Very disturbing.. I really have to blame the elite and the privileged, the educated intellectual and the upper class for selfishly allowing their countrymen to suffer this fate resulting to the prevalence of ignorance and stupidity.. Simply put, the disturbing and evident lack of intellect. Very truly, we are not a united country in terms of vision and common aspiration. If the political affairs of the Philippines will continue under the influence of the same powerful political families of the country, Stupidity in political affairs will continue to linger. Watch for Pacquiao to become President.

Re:6000 + EJK (Extra Judicial Killings)- EJK is a misnomer because since GMA became President Death penalty was no longer law of the land. Duterte is a good president because after 6 months in office he had this program to fight drug trafficking which resulted in death of about 1000 individuals a month..Do you think we could continue being president with that kind of record..Presidents before Duterte were never able to control population now he will be successful. Not the fault of Duterete or his henchmen. It is the fault of those who were killed.

When David became king the family of Saul were very afraid of him. Why is that? Because it is the practice of the newly seated leader to purge...to kill the family of the former king and those he perceived as his enemy. When the brother of Solomon made himself king without the consent of King David Bathsheba feared for her life and that of Solomon. Purges. This is a practice that is true even in communist states. The leader will do away with people he perceived as threat to his reign. That was their reason for the purge. What about if a leader does it to purge his country of undesirables? Is the latter justified than the former?

Someone posted, "Re: Ad Hominem attacks-- There is a blogger in San Diego who calls himself a mercenary....... Just because I don't agree with him I lost my right to live in the USA. All I'm saying is the President-elect was not elected by majority of the voters." My reaction: I don't know if you are lying or if you are severely suffering from dementia. You clearly implied racism is being propagated by the Republicans with its plans of privatizing Healthcare... and then you clearly stated that the Republican party is racist as it entertains neo Nazis as members which is another lie... Don't backtrack from what you said previously. I can easily spot your lack of experience when it comes to political history as you ironically call yourself as a researcher. I am not attacking your personality.. I am attacking your lies and misinformation. Perhaps your ignorance as well. Privatizing the Healthcare program will encourage competition and with competition, prices will go down as the quality of healthcare will result to patronization. Your Obamacare is full of flaws and lies.. Obama said you can keep your personal doctor.. He lied. The premium will go down.. He lied. In Obamacare, The State takes over your personal health and the people pay for it with their taxes.. People who are illegally staying in the country will be covered by the very people who are generating the economy.. This is clearly globalization and it is horrible. Not only you will overwork the doctors and the nurses, quality care will go down as a result and the state gets to decide who deserves what. Tell me, if you reach the age of 85 plus and you have to have a treatment that requires million of dollars, Would you want a Healthcare system where the state decides for you? That's effing horrible. Secondly, I am not questioning your right to live in the US. I am questioning your demeanor as an citizen of this country. Why would you question the right of this government to protect its citizens by screening immigrants.. which includes Filipino immigrants? Because you are a Filipino? and my Third point is this, Just because the majority of voters went to Hilary Clinton, that doesn't mean the intellectual aspect of this election is hers as well. California and New York alone cannot decide for the rest of the country. That is the beauty of the Electoral Vote/College. Through Popularity Votes have produced the likes of Hitler, Putin, Marcos, Estrada, Duterte, etc. Very clearly, you do not know the wisdom of the Electoral Vote versus the popularity vote. If the US were practicing popularity in elections, I am sure you would be voting for Justin Bieber for President, qualified or not.

Someone posted, "There is a blogger in San Diego who calls himself a mercenary and being short on reason resorts to ad hominem attacks. Just because I don't agree with him I lost my right to live in the USA." My reaction: In case you didn't notice, there are quotation marks on the title. So does that make you somehow think? I hope so. Secondly, I am not questioning your right to live in the US.. You made a pledge in you oath swearing... and I can only hope you are sincere when you swore to uphold the constitution.... But if you are going to question the manner the country protects itself through immigration because of your own skin and ethnicity, I have to wonder if you really like being an American or not... or if you are deserving to be an American at all. Sure you have the right. No question. However, I doubt if you are deserving.

HU-WAH-KAH-NGAH!!! Suwerte talaka kaming CHEK-WA tao parati. HU-WAH-KAH-NGAH!!!

Someone said, "Just because I don't agree with him I lost my right to live in the USA. All I'm saying is the President-elect was not elected by majority of the voters." My reaction: Without hesitation, I will say you lied. You were propagating ideas that voters of Trump made a mistake as they voted against their own interest and even implied that the Republican Party has a racist nature. Now you say all you are saying the President elect was not elected by the majority of the voters. By the way, you are right! He wasn't voted by the majority of voters but the majority of the electoral votes... New York and Los Angeles alone cannot decide for the country alone. I am so glad we are following the electoral vote system which you obviously yet understandably despise.
